I'm so glad Max is feeling better, Melissa! :bfly: I agree 100% with everything you said, too. I have no idea where Goldy was going with that, but I took that as offensive myself!
I know, I wonder if the cats even notice? Smokie was running around, after they said to keep him quiet, lol. I guess they take it different than doggies. I'm so glad he is better, yay!!

:bfly: Awww thats great to here Max is doing well and that you helped him when he needed it, yes it is fine to help a pet when after they have surgery.. Even dogs that dont have surgery need help from time to time with something..

Thanks guys! I knew I was right! My babies need me as much as I need them! I always try to do whats best for them, since they are my children! He is still doing great, and you know, now that he keeps feeling better more each day, its getting harder to keep him calm! Last nite he kept jumping on the bed! I hope he doesnt mess up his incision. He most likley wont, but still I worry...Darla (our vet and family friend) put stainless steel sutures in his belly too (where he had to have the retained testicle taken out) so she says most likley he wont hurt it since she put those inside his little belly. She put them in Harlie too when she got spayed, which was probly the best thing for her since she was wild after she had her surgery (well the day after) If I rub her belly, you can feel them, but Max's are farther up so they wont be noticable. Well thanks everyone! I cant wait till I can take him on a walk again so he can run around and get rid of some of his energy he has been storing up.
~Melissa

Yay Max!! So glad he's feeling better.
Of course your babies need you! I'm sure with all of your tender loving care Max will heal up just fine.
oh man I remember how hard it was trying to keep Jack calm after his neuter. He was so rambunctious and wild it was next to impossible. Good Luck

Well Melis, I'm glad to read that Max is doing better and better! I too agree that helping your boy get around is just fine and that goldys comment was a little off in the deep end. I was there the day you brought him home so I'll vouch for you! ('eh, thats what sisters are for, you boob. ha ha) (Ooh, uhm, ha ha yeah guys, Melis always calls me a boob so uhm, I like to get her back sometimes.)
When Melis was telling me about the stainless steel sutures, I was in awe when she told me she could feel them in Har! (Of course, I had to feel for myself and see just what she was talking about...)
It feels totally ........... hmmmmmm.... Its almost creepy!! ha ha
Anyone else's pet ever have to have steel sutures??

no steel sutures in any pets, but a year ago this month my son (then 20) fell off a 20 foot roof. he ended up with a compound fx tib/fib (basically his shin bone sticking out of his leg) - surgery to fix - metal rod from knee to ankle and screws at the knee and ankle to stablize... anyway - you can feel the screws at his knee and at his ankle... it's a freaky thing to feel!
(sorry- that was off topic - but - yeah - I know what it feels like to feel things that don't belong in the body through the skin... it's kind of oogie )

Its still on topic...kids are like pets too huh?? Anyhow, it is pretty weird feeling them, and when Har sits a certain way, you can see one of them, like a little lump on her belly. I'll have to take a picture of it sometime. its not sharp or anything, just pokes out a little in the middle...and Har isnt a big eater no matter what we try, so her belly has no fat at all, so its easier to see than it probly would be in another animal. I'll try to get a pic of it tonite. He he...its not too creepy. Just feels weird.
