corgimom will become famous soon enough

One more summer question (re pools)

Is chlorine bad for dogs? We let Ein splash in the pool with us while it was filling up (so the water was only half way up his legs) and he had a ball. So we tried putting him the pool with us on a really hot day to see if he could swim. (Don't worry, we were both in the pool, standing less than a foot apart. I held him until he started paddling, then let go, but kept my hand/arm about an inch under his body the entire time, just in case). He only stays in for about 5-10 minutes (after that, we would either dry him off and put him on his tie out so he can still be outside with us or he send him inside with Lucas' dad, depending on how hot it was. He's only been in the full pool twice.)

Is it okay to let him in with us once in a while or is the chlorine bad for him?

Lesson: Remember to take time to think about what's truly important. Oh, and give your pets a hug.

It should be okay as long as you are sure he isn't trying to drink the pool water. Also, make sure you hose him down well afterwards.

I agree, as long as he's not drinking up the chlorinated water, he should be fine. And just as you would with your hair, hose him off with fresh water afterwards so the chlorine doesn't do any damage to his fur.

It's good to hear he enjoys swimming!
