Becki, max is pointing a pheasant wing attached to a fishing pole. It exposes him to the scent he'll be working in the field and gets him excited over "birds"- the point comes naturally, it's what he was bred to do- and "whoa" training him- which is holding the point until the birds are flushed is what we are starting to work on now. It's fun training him! He gets so focused and excited, it's so much fun to see him that way! The wing-on-the-string is really a very basic "toy" most breeders use to show potential buyers that they breed "birdy" dogs
