Please be careful where you put your feet

I just wanted to remind people to be careful around puppies. In the freezer at work yesterday there was an 8 week old rottweiller...it had been euthanized because the owner wasn't paying attention and accidently stood on it, proceeding to break it's back. I can't begin to imagine the guilt that the poor owner must be feeling right now and I know there a few people on here with puppies so please look before you put your feet down.

I know....it made me so sad when the nurse was telling me (we were putting a bird in the freezer that had been attacked bya cat) and I still can't get it out of my head.

OMG I can't imagine how awful that must have been for her! That poor puppy. It's a good pointer for small dog owner's too, I am always worrying about steping on Claire or Rebel.

We've all learned to do the *puppy shuffle* in this house now! That is... sliding our feet as we walk and watching where were step because when the Remster is out of her pen she's always chasing someone's foot!

Gosh, that is so, so sad I am sure the owner is traumatized.

I am glad I wasn't there when the owner bought it in...I need to become stronger to not cry and such with the owners cause I know I will be useless the first few times and I just have to switch my emotions off when it comes to these things.

OMG how sad.... The 2 pups we have tend to get under our feet, now they don't get hurt, I am the one that ends up falling into the counter, fridge, or whatever may be around at the time. RS I can understand how you feel, I never could get used to euthanization when I worked in a Vet's office years ago, my heart went out to the owners that's for sure.
