potty training

How long does it normally take? When I got Ruckus he was paper trained. I took the paper away and he has been going potty outside since. we have had three accidents in 3 weeks. I dont know it thats bad, but it doesnt sound bad to me.
He doesnt tell me when he needs to go outside! He expects me to take him out every two hours, and I usually do. If i dont he will have an accident.

Ruckus is a six month old crate trained sheltie

3 accidents in 3 weeks is not bad.... I would suggest teaching Ruckus to bark to go out....

Before you take him outside, say "do you want to go out? Speak!" say this over & over until he barks, then say "Good boy, let's go" bring him out asap, and when he does his business, praise him a Lot. Praise praise & more praise. If you do this , he'll catch on that he needs to bark to go potty. Elvis Lee has a special little bark that means "I gotta go out".

Best of luck with the training.
