Puppy fever - Paw Talk

It seems Jeff has been struck by puppy fever.

He called me at work and told me that he was looking at the website of the breeder we got Sydnee from and there was a cute little male that was still in need of a home. Then he proceeds to tell me that he called and talked to the breeder for a 1/2 hour. I told him as much as I would love to have another puppy, I don't think it's a good idea right now....however, *if* we got another puppy, a male would probably be better rather than throw another female into the mix. He said that's exactly what the breeder said. I told him to call the breeder back and ask if he would give us a deal since we've already gotten a puppy from him, AND this puppy isn't getting any younger and people want little tiny baby puppies, not half grown puppies. Jeff proceeds to tell me we don't need another dog, blah blah blah. I said "Excuse me, but YOU were the one to call me AT WORK to tell me about this puppy and YOU were the one to call the breeder and ask about the puppy!" Sheesh, MEN!

I'm 99.9% sure that we're not getting another puppy. We need to start working on our own human pups. Plus we want to go on a vacation in Mexico in Feb and that would mean extra costs to board another dog. Plus we both agreed that when we get another dog (in the very very far future) it's going to be another Doberman or an Australian Cattle Dog.

Anyway, just thought I'd share because I thought it was kind of funny.

Just what my man would do to! He spends all this money on a new computer then tells ME not to spend anymore money! OH I bet that drove you crazy!

I bet when he said we don't need anther dog that he said it with real conviction too, totally forgetting his original statements.

lol, typical of a guy. Lucas does stuff like that, too. Even though he kept saying we don't need a third dog, he also kept saying how much he wanted a collie.

lol david does that about things, even worse he will buy something, some junk... then like a month later he will say we have too much junk and he'll want to get rid of things.. guys... bleh!

Well, we thought about it some more and decided not to do it because we don't have any room left on the couch for another dog.

When we sit on the couch Mirra stays in the spot she's in now (the far end), then Jeff is next to her, I sit next to Jeff, Syd is crammed in between us or on one of our laps, then Scarlette crams herself at the other end. We have a very small, uncomfortable straight backed love seat that we don't sit on so I put a sheet on it and it was designated as the dog couch. Needless to say the dogs find it more comfortable to cram themselves on the couch with us.

So, if we got another dog it would cost us even more money because we'd have to invest in a larger couch.
