Unhappy

reggie is being naughty

reggie has been an absolute terror today!! just in the last 5 min. he has put a huge hole in my screen in the door and when i got him away from there he went right over to a chair and tried to pull it apart. this was after being naughty all morning. i finally ended up putting him in his crate for an hour because i was getting so frustrated with him. i give him all kinds of attention--we have reggie time everyday a couple times a day, he has a ton of toys and chews but he is still giving me a run for my money this week. after a while i feel bad cause it seems like all i do is get after him. i love him so much and i just want him to be happy but he has to learn to be good too.

Do you have a backyard? Maybe you can put him out there for alittle while to play off all the energy, or maybe go for walks or to the park? I'm sorry I'm not much help, maybe someone else will have better advice but I hope he stops acting up

yeah, i put him out there and he barks to come back in. he has a pretty long lead and i play as much fetch as he wants. the closest dog park to us is about 10-15 mi away so it's a bit of a drive. we do usually walk at least a mile if not two. in all fairness to him we have had a rough week. my son was really sick last week and ended up in the hospital for dehydration over the weekend. then the rest of us including me caught what he had so there has not been as much time for our pets this week as there usually is. hopefully reggies actions are because of this.

My dogs just get into moods sometimes and are just terrible. I think it's an attention thing. I work from home and sometimes Toby will try to get me to play with him during work hours. When I don't he starts pulling books off the shelves and ripping them up, spreading the garbage, chasing the kitty, and anything else naughty he can get into.

yeah i think that's what it is w/ reggie too. we went on a walk to the ball fields and played fetch there just him and me and i think that helped.

It probably is an attention thing...

My current foster dog has been starting to get a little naughty, since I have been out alot lately. She has been tearing up the garbage and diapers, not listening to us and pulled a garbage bag into her crate...when both of us (my bf and me) go out, Brandy is crated in the day, as she would get really destructive otherwise...learned from experiance... But I think she has been doing this for attention...otherwise she is a really good dog!
