Save A Dog and Help A Disabled Person... All at one time!
Texas Hearing and Service Dogs is the non-profit org. I got my dearest Nellie from. They are only Texas based which helps to not have to be on 5yr.+ waiting lists for national organizations.
Also THSD is one of the many jumping on the 100% positive reinforcement train, unlike some of the others out there that use lots of adversives (CCI for example) which we know for a fact by research and proof you don't have to jerk collars, tell them "no", to make them work HARD for you! and this company don't breed more dogs to our pet population (not all pups qualify as service dogs when bred for them).
