Shedding!
Little Miss Riley is a shedding maniac!
Little miss Riley is shedding her hair
E-I-E-I-O
Here a hair
There a hair
Everywhere is white hair
little miss Riley is shedding her hair
E-I-E-I-O
Like my song?
She sheds more than any dog I have ever had. I don't know if I'm noticing it more because she's a white dog and I wear dark clothes, hence the hair is more noticeable? Or maybe I have a true problem on my hands (or should I say clothes, truck seat, anything she comes into contact with!)
Does anyone have any advice on what I might be able to give her to slow down the shedding? She gets NutroMax puppy food right now, plus the occasional table scraps and treats.

Suggestion
Sorry... I did not catch what kind of dog you have.
However, when my parents had a long haired mutt, we got one of those wire mesh brushes, its job is to take out the hair, the loose hair. It reduces the amount of hair that goes around the house. I would also brush her daily if she has a lot of hair. If not, once a week, would probably be good. Try that.
Otherwise, there is always shaving her.

The shedding blades work GREAT! We use it on Manto, who sheds like a maniac.

We also have a shedding comb and some other kind of cheap brush but the shedding blade works best, IMO!

I second the shedding blade!!! Oh let me tell you, they are AWSOME for our little bully breeds! Definetly a necessity!
Oh and yup, it's more noticeable because she is white....Orion is the SAME way...My couch is a hunter green with white lines on it
Also a little bit of Linetone added to her food should help with the excessive shedding
You can pick up a shedding blade at Petsmart.

Convienently enough, I already have a shedding blade that I use for my horses! It's a bit larger then the dog sized ones, but I'll try that and see if it helps any.
I don't know if it's the white hair that makes it more noticeable or what, but my Red Doberman (Scarlette ) doesn't seem to shed that much.
AprilsMom, Riley is a Bull Terrier that is almost 7 months old (eek! My baby girl is growing up so fast. )

I think it's the white hair...We find Kali hair really bad on white blankets and none of Orion's...but Orion's hair is all over anything of a dark color and none of Kali's!

I agree with the white hair sentiment! Our couch and carpet are beige (thank goodness) like Gumbo. I was looking at the couch the other day wondering why my allergies were so bad. Talk about some fur accumulation!! I promptly got out the lint roller.
I have one of those rubber grooming brushes for Gumbo. I tried the shedding blade but my prissy dog won't have it. The rubber brush is softer on his skin, I guess. I just lint roll him too when I'm done.

I love when people come into the shelter looking for a short haired dog because they don't shed as much.
