I'm new on this forum. I have a 10 year old
Siberian Husky. I got her for my 16th birthday and she's been the love of my life ever since. Here's the problem, though. I go to college in a city that gets very hot in the spring and summer, and really cold in the winter. She has been down with my folks for a while where the weather is much milder. She comes to visit, but when she leaves to go back she shows signs of severe anxiety, depression, etc. She won't even eat for a couple of days sometimes. Also, even before I moved out of the house for college she was showing signs of separation anxiety. If she was left alone for any period of time, even 15 min., she would act like we abandoned her and would either break her chain in the yard if she was outside and run away, or tear the house up if she was inside til there was nothing left practically. We have tried everything. Are there any husky owners out there who can give me some friendly advice? She's getting older now, even though she still runs and acts like a pup, and I'm afraid all of this getting worked up could severely traumatise her physical health. Any thoughts?
