Silly Samson - Hiking the wrong leg!

So I read in several different areas that my lil rotty pup should start hiking his leg to pee at around 4 months old. On his fourth month b-day he actually sort of kind of in a weird way began to hike his back leg...but then that was it. He never hiked again.... that is until yesterday....

He'll be 6 months old in a couple of weeks and yesterday began "hiking" his FRONT LEG in a "pointer position" when he pees! Since he isn't hiking the back and just generally "standing there" while his stream gets bigger lol it tends to sprinkle on his front paw I think lol

Do I need to take him to remedial doggy training classes? I don't want the other doggies on the block making fun of him while they scent the trees he stands there like a doofus protecting his wittle front paw lol

That would be a funny site to see him lifting his front leg.

My dog still doesn't lift his leg and he's 8 months old. He did it once a couple months ago but hasn't since.

Oh boy, Deb you are funny. Poor Samson , he's probably just shy yet My Angus is 9 mos and still hasn't lifted his leg yet. Bowser will be 2 years old next month, and he started lifting his leg in February of this year, when we got Angus (at 9weeks)....However, Bowser only lifts his leg when we take him out for a walk...so he can mark trees. When we let him out in the back yard, he doesn't lift his leg, go figure I'm not sure Angus will lift his leg. He's so big and tall, and will get bigger still, he may fall over if he lifts his leg
