Silver has heartworms!

i just got this news today, & tho i hate to hear it, i was not surprised. he was a stray who camped out in my yard. no one claimed him.
of course i'll treat him, he is young and should come thru it all OK.
the hardest thing is going to be keeping him quiet for 6 weeks!
how in the world!? this is a very playful, active dog! he is a cross between Chow & Border Collie, the vet & i both agreee on that. so, how to slow Silver down!? i fully understand WHY he has to slow down,BUT! i may wait till my BF gets back in town to help.
also, Silver has to be regular wormed, get shots, & gain weight, so i have a bitof time, i hope!

Oh poor baby. Maybe invest in a crate for him. I know that's hard to make him spend a lot of time in there but if it keeps him calm.

I hope he recovers easily, and without to much trauma.

I'm sorry that Silver has to suffer because of his free start in life... but he's lucky to have someone like you to love him. I'm sure he'll come through it with your love and care.

Yeah Kay, it is cureable. It is risky though. The way I understand it, it could also weaken his heart.
