Skin Problems
Hi everyone,
I recently took an old gal into my home. She is a 10 year old lab/chow mix. Her owner died and his family was going to have her put to sleep I guess because no one else wanted her. Well I wasn't going to let that happen!
She has been itching since I brought her home. She doesn't have fleas, but I see that she gets dry "spots" all over her skin. They are very very dry. But she won't let me put anything on them. I've even tried a hydrocortozone spray, but she just runs away when I get it out now. I have put vegetable oil in her food and she loves it. I have bought skin and coat vitamins and put them in her food which she eats. Both the oil and vitamins seem to have helped somewhat because she is not itching as much as she was before, but she still gets new dry spots. Anybody have any ideas on what might help her skin?
