Chantelle-You should post some pics of Charlotte! I believe you have before, but you should again.
My friend Mel who is in the process of joining PT right now, she has a Harl named Stella who is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! She's still a puppy and has growing to do, but I can't get enough pictures of her! I wasn't fond of Harlequins until I met Mel and got to know Stella...
Dimaris- Thanks! I'm so happy to actually have a name to go with my Dane chattering now!! I was getting so tired of saying, "Future puppy" or "the Dane we'll get someday"... now I can just say the puppy Duke!!
Jane- I had thought of the Marmaduke thing too!

And yeah, Margo crops if you want them cropped. Well not
her but she has her vet do it since she knows what to expect and knows that the job will be done right. She will teach me how to tape them, because even though they'll come back from the vet taped, the tape will need changed, and the ears will need to try to stand all by themselves for a little bit...
Today, actually she showed me how to tape. Ricky's ear has a bend in it, and she's fighting it to stand up right, which means taping longer. But his crop is a high/tall one, so those kind take longer to stand then the crop that Hope and Clarice have. Margo said their ears were all done needing tape at 6/7 months but since she's showing, just to be on the safe side she kept them up an extra month in tape...
At the show today, Ben and I got there late. First off we took too long talking to my mom and playing with Delta, then we got lost because I guess the address I put into the GPS wasn't right! x( So we drove aound in a circle a couple times and then Margo called and told us which way to go. Thankfully we didn't miss anything, and I still got to visit with Hope and her before ring time came along. She had hired a handler to show Hope, and she was dressed in jeans/casual clothes... Which she ended up having to show like, because the handler had other dogs, and one of them had conflicting ring times with Hope... Poor Margo was so embarrassed but thankfully the judge wasn't upset about it and Hope won a blue ribbon!

She went into the next ring, but didn't win that time. :/ Oh well! I was so happy to see her win though!
We stuck around and watched some of the Open class, and the Best of Breed... then we headed back to her van and we got to meet Ricky. He is a big boy!

At first he was a little wary of Ben (there are no men at home with him so Margo figured that was why?) but after giving him treats and letting him stretch his legs, he was best buds with us. Margo showed us his gait and his stack, showed us how to tape ears... (of course she'll teach me again but today she just showed me becaue I was curious.) He is a big leaner!! He was leaning into Ben at one point and about knocked Ben back, so Ben moved out of the way and Ricky kept pushing into him, then when Ben moved, his still pushed, and I was sure he'd left a dent in the bumper of the van! xD He didn't, though...
I'm so excited! Margo told us she bred Clarice yesterday, will do it tomorrow, and the day after that. She's pretty sure she should get pregnant from that!

Here's to hoping!!
Hope... oh my gosh! She was SO soft! O.O I didn't expect her to feel like a stuffed animal! Margo said the blacks are normally soft like her, the blues and fawns are a little less soft, and she said the Harlequins seem to have the roughest coat? But I think it was her opinion, not fact. I wonder what Mel will say about Stella's coat.
I had so much fun! The fairgrounds was buzzing with energy and I've never in my entire life seen so many dogs, or so many Danes, in one place at one time and how well behaved most were!!
Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures... I didn't see one person carrying a camera, and there were no chairs for sitting so I couldn't have taken any inconspicuously from my lap either... and my camera is HUGE... so ... :\ oh well. I was still in heaven!!
