I had this great idea to take in a "death row doggy" from the
humane society. I adopted in Dexter a very thin and sad looking dog. They said he was great with other dogs and animals. So we loaded him up and took him home. We had him neutered and he is up to date with all his shots etc. But the one thing I hadnt counted on is that he and my other large dog DO NOT GET ALONG. I think he got along great with "other" dogs until he got settled in. We have had horrendous dog fights, just awful and I am now in fear of one of them getting hurt or even worse.
Dexter needs a home... FAST....
I have contacted several rescue groups to be put into another foster home..but would really like to see Dexter go to a FOREVER home.
Dexter is a large clumsy dog who needs to be in a SINGLE DOG HOME. He is a very active and is still learning. Estimated age about 1-2 years. I think he would do best in a home without small children, not due to any aggressivness to humans , but he down right knock ya out with his paws and head clumsiness.
He has become very attached to me and I cant even pet my other big dog when he is around.
I have had him on petfinder.org for some time and now am broadening my net due to the last fight that scared the bejezus out of me. I dont want to turn him back into the pound as a problem dog, I see so much potential in him.
I live in West Michigan and am willing to drive within reason to the right home.
If you have any ideas, or think you might be interested in taking in a companion that will love you to DEATH.. :0)
