Special Needs Dog Food, Please help?

My Aunt has a toy poodle that is about 10 years old. Missy, the poodle, has liver problems and cannot have any foods that have hugh amounts of fat or protein. Missy has been on this special diet for about 3-4 years. My Aunt was feeding her Science Diet I/D and at first Missy was ok wiht the food. Now it is a struggle everyday to get Missy to eat. She loves what we call Missy Stew, this is a combo of carrots, peas and potatoes that are steamed then mashed together.

I am trying to help my Aunt by finding a "Human Grade" food that has less than around 10% each of fat and protein. Does this even exist? I was thinking that if Missy were able to have hard food to chew it would satisfy her more.

Missy is literally skin and bones as she is so hard to please with food.

I hope that this is enough information, if not please feel free to ask me anything!

Thanks in advance!

Kristy

I know of several dry foods that have less than 10% fat but none that have less than 10% protein....I don't think it would meet the AAFCO nutrient profiles if the protein was that low.

Here is a link that contains homemade recipes that replace the Hill's prescription diets ( the Hill's i/d diet is #2):
http://www.appspring.com/ACVC/recipek9.htm

If this is something you would like to consider...I recommend printing the recipe out and taking it to your aunt's vet so that he can tell her how to properly supplement it. It is likely that Missy will find the homemade version of Hills i/d much more palatable so it should'nt be a chore to get her to eat it. Good luck

Thanks for the link I will let my Aunt know. I was incorrect in the formula of Science Diet that Missy is eating. It is K/D. I apologize for the confusion.
