The first squirrel in our yard
The first squirrel I have ever seen in our yard didn't get a good reception. I didn't realize that he was out there and I let Frank and Belle out to potty. The poor little thing had no idea where to go. Frank was quick - much quicker than I am. He actually caught up with the little guy and, thank God, stopped and didn't do anything. The squirrel was pratically underneath of Frank. Then the squirrel finally realized he could fit through our fence! I don't know what took him so long to realize it. As he escaped through the fence Frank got a puff of his tail fur. Luckily the squirrel seemed just fine and ran off into my (dogless) neighbors yard. I felt so badly for the poor little thing. I never encourage them to chance anything. However, they are dogs.
We get loads of bunnies in our yard. Well loads for the type of area we live in. But the bunnies are much smarter than this squirrel. The bunnies are usually out of the yard before the dogs realize they are there! Then the bunnies will sit in another yard and just look at the dogs. I swear they are teasing the dogs! The bunnies know that the dogs cannot get past the fence and that they are safe.
