Sharon, yes!! I need you!! She's starting to look like a little dust mop!
The breeder told me not to cut that hair because it was part of her "facial furnishings?" - I don't know!! It's not long enough to pull up into the start of a topknot yet, that's for sure!
She refuses to let me put a barret or pony tail on top of her head - there is just enough hair up there to get a cute little one , but the Remster says it's not happenin'

I clip her ear hair every 2 weeks and groom the hair on her feet - no probs. Oh, oh! You know what I use to clip her ear hair? Have you ever seen those things they advertise on TV that look like little electric combs and "take hair of anywhere!" ?
I found them in a Walgreen's in Florida - on sale for so cheap I ended up buying 3 of them just because me and the girls wanted to give them a try. It turns out the darn thing is the perfect size and clips her ear hair to the perfect length. I fold the ear over and scissor the straight line - then bzzzzzp!.. Use that "miracle whatsit" on the triangle and edges.
It works great to get a nice neat round foot too. I scissor her delicate unmentionable parts to keep them neat and clean.

Help! What do I do with her scruffy self!??

facial furnishings ?? Hair sticking out in front of the eyes ?? I dunno ... I can't see pulling hair that grows on the bridge of the nose into a ponytail ...
Our groomer just today brought in some 5 weeks old puppies to "neaten them up" She trimmed that hair sticking in front of their eyes, and across the nose (between the eyes) and trimmed their little ears. Seems like there'd still be plenty for a ponytail. (OH! BTW, that was the litter I'd've picked from for you, and you should see the little dude that I refer to as "the one I would've picked for Linda" CUTE!)

LindaLou - I do the same thing with Snooper that Sharon is talking about. Otherwise she can't see. I trim the hair right above her eyes too so it doesn't hang over her eyes. Just look at some pics of Snoop and you can tell when I'm slacking on the trimming. But you don't have to I guess....it's all just on how you like her doggie hair do.

Sharon trimmed Snooper when she was here last time and I've been telling her that Snooper has scheduled an appt with her for April. Her own personal groomer!

I just have to say it again.....I wuv the Remster!!
Oh and *ahem* don't you think you need a brother for Remy...ummmm, maybe one named Henry????

Sharon can you come visit me and groom the Remster too!??

Sharon showed me an excellent picture and I understand where to trim now ... I just have to get my nerve up! She's such a slippery eel when I am grooming her sometimes... it makes me nervous!

Awww Sharon... you are torturing me girl!! LOL I would love to get the Remster a buddy!! How cute would that be!!? She'd have someone her own size to play with and bond with.. it would be so much fun.

The imposed ban on "no more new pets" is being inforced...
for now at least

She seemed to do just fine with her Rabies shot. Yay! She wasn't her usual spunky rowdy self last night but she did get off my lap to run around for a little while.
I did cheat big time though and let her sleep with me last night. Thankfully she did great and -yipee no accident on the bed. LOL
She seems a little sleepy today - I just pulled her out of her crate and put her in my lap, but she's been eating and drinking and eliminating normally - so I am sure she is fine. She really is a tough little bugger for such a tiny girl!

she will be fine without her lepto. lol my dogs get nothing pup one parvo as pups and never another shot for the rest of there lives, and they are extremly healthy, they are also in contact with others dogs constantly, because of flyball and agility etc..

BCsncritters, I am not sure I correctly understood what you wrote. Your pups only get their initial parvo shots - then nothing else, ever? Not even rabies shots?
That's interesting. We can't lisence our dogs here without a 3 year rabies shot.

I'm hoping she will be ok without the Lepto.... I know that it's one of important ones as Lepto can also be transmitted to humans.

Flyball! I would love to do Flyball with Remy! I've been reading that Yorkies are doing it more and more - it looks like SO much fun!

lol yes you read it correct, happy had a horrable reaction to her rabies shot, so never again, she has never been the same since she had it. plus rabies is so uncommon over here that its not required at all. :p

Wow, I'm so sorry you had to go through that with Happy and a bad reaction to the Rabies shot. What went wrong? What kind of reaction did she have? How did it effect her long term?
Sorry for all the questions - It's very interesting to me because there is some degree of controvery that swirls around the whole subject of vaccinations for dogs and cats.

My vet seems to think she'll do just fine without the Lepto too - and he won't give it to her because he believes it's just not worth the risk. I trust him. It's good to know that your dogs have done so well...
Thanks for the information

she had health problems caused that were short term, she got very sick and the vet had to give a her a medicine to counteract the rabies vax. but her temperment was affected long term. before the shot she was happy(hence the name) and she loved people and dogs, and was just a very happy go lucky dog. after her rabie shot she was all of a sudden frightend of everything, she still is no longer a happy dog as she was before the vax, she started attacking dogs and kids even though she was very well socilized etc.. I have been working with her for years to get her back to the way she used to be. she is no longer afraid of people or kids, heck she loves them again, as for other dogs she is still getting over that, she is nearly 4 years old now, she is getting better with dogs, but only if she is off leash. I have also heard of other dogs with the same type of reactions.
