We're back from the vet!
Remy got her Rabies vaccination

She cried

I felt so, so bad! My vet told me to watch her closely for any reaction because he's seen a couple of small breeds have minor reactions from that particular manufacterer's vaccine. He has the most adorable chihuahua/fox terrier cross and she had a slight reaction. He said a small lump at the injection site was one possible reaction and if that happened it might be tender and uncomfortable.
I have the children's Benedryl, tiny syringe to dose and squirt, and the Vet's office number handy just in case... gads I am such a worry wart! My vet did tell me that he should be around all weekend and to call him if I have any questions or think something may be wrong - and - if I think it's serious and can't reach him for some reason, call the
emergency vet and get her there pronto.
The rabies tag they gave her is a pink heart and the vet and vet-techs were all joking that if I hung it from a collar around her neck it would make her fall over! LOL
He did not give her a Lepto shot - he's opting for not giving it to her at all right now. Since the breeder even mentioned that somewhere in the line someone had a reaction to it - my vet is saying "allergic" - put it right at the top of her chart. He's playing it very safe I suppose. I am not concerned at this point because she is only in contact with Max, Jack and the cats who are always kept current on their boosters. She doesn't even go outside yet.
Should I be conerned about her not having the lepto immunization? What do you guys think?
She weighed in at a whopping.... (drum roll)
2 pounds 2 ounces!

She's almost 16 weeks old! Holy cow - I never think about how old she is because she is still such a baby to me. She was born on October 26... is that right? almost 16 weeks? I can't count

LOL
She's gained one ounce in 2 weeks. I know she is eating very well! She's become really active though and since I am starting to give her more supervised freedom she really runs around the house. She gives Max a good work out! She is just going to be very tiny. Sheesh... who knew
I've been afraid to cut her nails because they are black and so, so tiny. I asked the vet to do it and he used a Dremel! I was joking that it was like going to the nail salon but Remy didn't buy it and wasn't happy about it at all. What a great way to trim their nails though! Zrrrrp, Zrrrrp... done! and nice and smooth too.
ugh, sorry for blathering, I'm going to be worried about her all night and obsess...
is she drinking? has she eaten? is she ok? She is sleeping in my lap right now and I will probably have her velcro'd to me until tomorrow

arrrgh! I don't like being such a worrier.
If I act like this over a vaccination, what the heck am I going to be like when she gets spayed!???
Thanks for all the compliments you guys! And thanks for putting up with my ranting!!
Laurie - omg to see her lift her leg for him like that is too funny!! Her mother did that, on command!! - to nurse the pups!! The breeder would say - "Mia, feed your babies" and she would lift her leg and Remy would run under and latch on ROFL
When I told him what a hussy Remy was and did the same thing that Mia did only she did it for Max to sniff her he cracked up and said that all the females in the line do it!
I need to send him that picture.
Thanks again you guys!!
