Ok, so here's the story (kinda long):
Sunday morning, at about 3am, I get a call from my Nan that a little dog came up to her on the front porch (I was at a party). So she had him in the backyard.
I come home at 9:30am, and she brings him into the bathroom. He's a little blonde chihuahua mix. Here's what he was like when I first saw him:
*Underweight
*Shaking and muddy
*NOT neutered
*COVERED in fleas
*Small lump above penis
*No tags or collar (of course)
So I immediately stick him in the tub and give him two flea-shampoo baths and then, one by one, pick the fleas off of him with my tweezers. After that, I towel dried him and then sprayed him with a flea-killer spray and rubbed it in. Then we left him alone for a minute to dry. He looked pretty good that day, etc.
So yesterday (Monday), my Nan took him to the vet, and they drew blood and looked him over (no microchip). He still has baby teeth that need to come out (he's about 1.5 yrs) and the bump above his penis is a hernia.

So they scheduled surgery (for today - Tuesday). They also scheduled to neuter him
So Nan takes him in today and, guess what. He has heartworms. Poor baby. Thank goodness we got him! So I was still worried about some owners being out there freaking out because he was gone, etc. So Nan asks if there was any way that he had escaped 2-3 weeks ago (it happens) and gotten like this. The Dr. was like, "There is no way that this much damage/illness could have happened in that amount of time. This dog was neglected." So we're just figuring that EVEN if the dog escaped, because he's still alive, he probably only escaped 2-3 weeks ago and most of the damages/illnesses were present long before. So we are not going to actively look for the owners. Normally we would, just not in this case.
So he had his surgery today and did wonderfully.

And he will stay at the vet's for two days to get heartworm treatments. That's it.
Everyone at the vet's wants him.

Nan named him Griffin. We will take him with us I guess, if it all works out.
So that's it!
