Let me just say, this health insurance thing had me pretty worked up. Going to Disney in 10 days-I feel a bit rushed into going to the Doctors and no one seemed helpful on the phone this morning. I was a wreck trying to find out how I can go to the Doctor's. Ugh but I went to a lab place today to have a blood test, and when we get those results we can have them faxed to my doctor, and THEN we can make an appointment. Who cares if I leave for Disney in 10 days? Who cares if I have 1 million questions? Okay enough about the meanness I had today!

Do you want a boy or girl?? Does Ray want the same as you?? ( I know some people dont have a preference as long as its healthy...but some do too) Do you have any names that you have known you were going to name your baby, or just some you are thinking about?? I bet you are so excited! Its such great news! Congrats!!! |

Health comes before sex for me, just as it does for everyone but if I had a choice....I just don't know. I think a girl. Ray defenitly wants a BOY because
1. He never wants to kill a man for hurting his daughter. (He sounds so tough doesn't he?)
2. He wants to keep the STEELER room longer
3. He thinks if we HAVE to have a girl baby he'd like her to have an older brother to protect her.
This morning I woke up so early and I was just laying there thinking that the baby will be just in time for a first round of holidays. First Thanksgiving, First SkitSkat, First Christmas, and my favorite, first New year's. I envisioned both a boy and a girl baby with their first Santa pictures....and thought am I going to do this until the beginnning of November?
We do have names picked out. For a girl I would like Pamela Rose and for a boy, Regis John. Both names are to be named after people, Pammy is my cousin, and Regis is Ray's grandpap-and both of them our watching over us in Heaven. I am not super crazy about Regis, but Ray loved his Pap very much and REALLY wants it, and if I want to use Pammy then it is fair. Besides we can call him Reeg, Reggy, or even RJ.

Doesn't mean you can't get a puppy though |

I know we could still technically get a puppy, but this past week to pay for Disney, I worked 57 and 1/4 hours. When we have the baby I want to take 3 months off and go back to work only 3 days a week after that, so I see alot more over-worked weeks happening while I can to try and save some money up. We took the money we had saved for the puppy and started a new savings account today. I could not see buying a puppy and leaving it while Ray and I work about 90 hours a week. It just wouldn't be fair to the puppy. I like to make sure I can give an animal or anything for that matter the best care possible.

LOL I know and I am so worried about flying and everything. I so hope I can get a squeezed in Docto's appointment before I go. Now this child will never be able to complain that it didn't go to Disney!

If you need any help during this time let me know. It can be rough, especially in the beginning. I had horrible morning sickness when I was pregnant and had to be hospitalized. I didn't really get to enjoy my pregnancy, but I enjoyed what it brought me. |

Make sure you have lots of people to help you once the baby comes. Do you plan on having medication, or going natural? LOL I remember everything about my birth. I find it funny when mothers say they don't remember it. How can you forget? |

I have a huge family that loves me and spoils me, you would not believe how they helped us with our wedding, and I know they will be there for us. This will be kind of my Mom's first grandchild since my step-brother makes it known that she is a "stepmom" all of the time and this is ray's Mom's first grandchild. So both sets of grandparents will probably trying to be overly involved as well as my Aunts.
As for the natural versus meds thing, I have no idea. I like to research things and figure out what I think is best. I have a while yet to decide so as soon as I calm down and get back from vacation, I will start thinking about everything more clearly. Right now I am just so worked up about vacation and finding out we are pregnant, we have so much going on.
Thanks everyone for your warm wishes and congrats!

Ia m pregnant. I have thought I was all month practically, and the home pregnancy test gave a resounding YES. But you have to have blood work done and it sent to your doctor which then has to be FAXED to another doctor before you can be seen by the doctor. The blood work is like an official test to what I already know to be true, if you know what i mean.

Oh ok.... So you haven't 'officially' been told you are.... That's strange, why wouldn't a dr. see you if you got a positive home pregnancy test???

Your very welcome. It's always great to have someone to talk to as sometimes family can get a bit annoying. I know how you are feeling right now and I can sense it through your posts. I am happy to hear you have such a great family behind you. You need all the support you can get and that really makes me happy to hear this.
Gee, you are getting me excited LOL.

Congrats Capn!!!! I'm so excited for you and Ray!!!! :blob3: You must be over the moon!!!! You know my friend took five pregnancy tests before one said that she was pregnant (and she was pregnant the whole time) so I totally believe that if they say you're pregnant then you're pregnant!! now we want pictures of every month so we can all watch you grow!!!! And just a question...are you allowed to go on the rides at Disney if you are pregnant??

This is something I have been wondering myself and I am going to do whatever my doctor tells me. If that means I will be just wondering around getting my picture with every Toon' in a costume that is fine too.

Congrats to you and Ray both!!! That is wonderful news.
From what I was told you won't be able to ride the rides at Disney. Even still, you'll have a great time.
Of course you will keep be bombarding us with stories and such right? lol! Its an amazing adventure! I am glad you have so many wonderful friends and family to lean on when you need it. Knowing all of us here are here for you goes without saying.

Jodi,
This whole Doctor's appointment thing is a joke. i swear, ia m emotional, and every time I call any of the doctor's it ends in tears. No one is helpful, no one wants to actually help the pregnant girl leaving for Disney in 9 short days. I can't even get into it again but I am p*ssed to say the least! Tomorrow I shall know everything for sure, or I am going drive my car into one of their buildings (not seriously)

OMG Capn... I found "the thread" lol
Again congrats...
and my suggestion about the dr: Maybe find a different clinic to go to. When I was pregnant with both girls I just called & told them my period was late & I need to have a pregnancy test done. Don't tell them you did a home test until AFTER you get into the dr office that way they have NO excuse not to see you.
There are also certain clinics like planned parenthood that will do pregancy testing sometimes even for free I think.
They are giving you a major run around & it is BS.... BUT you need to try to stay calm & in control as hard as it may seem sometimes... you don't want to stress yourself anymore that needed... Hang in there hon & keep us updated!!
If you EVER need anything or want to talk I am ALWAYS here for you! You can call anytime you'd like also!
