Cool

Traveling w/a dog

Does anybody know of a website that lists the motel that will accept dogs? (Or do you just happen to know of a certain chain that will.) I'm getting really uptight about driving to Chatt. next weekend - it's a hard trip for me to make then all the demands from family, etc. I am trying to talk Bub into going by himself - would be a lot easier on me and cheaper as well by not having to pay all the boarding costs!

I know that there is a booklet printed with this info, but I fear I don't have time for this. If anybody can help I would appreciate it.

Thanks -

Thanks, Jade -

One of the sites has several listings throughout Georgia so I think that may come in handy.

Now to see what they say when I tell them we have one 10 lb dog - and two birds! Our saving grace will be that we'll be arriving probably later at night and leaving fairly early the next morning.

make sure to ask very SPECIFIC questions about the deposits. When traveling from AZ to GA we ran into problems in that area.

Of course we came with 4 dogs and 2 cats.... I did not even mention the chins

Thanks Chrisanne - I've seen some sites that say $5 deposit and others that say $35; some that say no big dogs, etc. At most at this point I'm traveling with a 10# Shihtzu and two baby birds that are being handfed - and surely those birds wouldn't bother anyone! They aren't very noisy - unless Frosty the 'tiel if hungry.

Yeah, those list the deposit, but most don't specify per pet or just flat rate... that kills me.

Cool

I will keep this list but as of last night we made a corporate decision to board Sasha with the other girls. She is really not used to being around many people and if I get stressed she gets stressed so it's just not worth it. I don't want to have anything else to be concerned about. We don't often have company so she just doesn't see people - she's a little loner.

But I appreciate the help and advice. One day we will travel together! (I'm still taking the two birds with me but don't think they're worth mentioning if we stay overnight on the way up and can leave them at my Mom's without a hassle).
