I'll keep everyone updated. I really do hope they can find something out, and maybe put her on something that will actually work! As little as the steroids are helping, it's almost not worth it, because she still scratches.

Though, not as bad as before, she said we'd see a dramatic improvement the next day. Ha! There was no improvement by the next day.

So, here's another update on Harley.

They did a skin scraping and still couldn't find mites, although he said to not rule that out as a possibility.

He also said to discontinue use of the steroids, as they weren't doing anything.

She is going to be put on Revolution, and we'll see if that helps. He said if it doesn't, we'll have to see if it's a food allergy.

I'm hoping the Revolution works. If it does, then all the pets will be going on it. And at ten dollars a dose, wow!

Gads, the poor dogs! Yes, keep us updated, okay? Many hugs to the poor thing! You know...my dog was scratching something terrible, so I put him in a luke-warm bath (no soap) and gently ran my hands over him. (He's terrified of water) Anyway, I noticed an immediate improvement, and I did something I wouldn't recommend, but I gave him an allergy pill --25mg. It did help, but that was only so I could get him to the vet. The vet was terrific and couldn't find mites, fleas, or ticks. Charlie isn't scratching nearly as bad, but if he does it on a weekend, I do the same thing and take him back on Monday. Since what I'm doing is working the vet said it's okay for now. Personally, I wonder if his problem is nerves? In a matter of a week, five different dogs (all not fixed and all without leashes) tried to attack him. That's when I noticed the scratching. Some human contact and love is helping, though I still wonder about allergies.

I did find out he was severely allergic to milk products, and that may have contributed...and yes, he's young. I found out the hard way

The vet technician actually asked me if it was nerves.

I don't think so, because Harley is a happy go lucky kind of pooch. She still acts the same, except when she's scratching.
