update on neighbor's dog, rocky
well, here's an update on rocky.
i have managed to get them to keep him on a leash tied up most of the time. i gave them an extra tie-out that i had. i've only seen him off it once or twice. so that is better.
i went over there today and one of the boys came to talk to me. i was holding rocky cause he was off the leash. i told the kid to also make sure that he ALWAYS wears his collar and i made him go get it and put it on rocky. he said that he is going to go get a tag from wal-mart soon.
i offered to bring rocky some of penny's old chew toys from when she was a puppy. so i'll bring those tomorrow.
i asked if rocky had had his shots, etc. he said no. rocky hasn't even been to the vet yet. so i told him that rocky reeeally needs his shots and heartworm medicine every month. today i came home and found a couple of places here in denton, tx that have low-cost vac. and neutering. i'll tell them about it and give them the name of my vet. hopefully they will get on top of this! i'm more than happy to take one of the kids with me to the place to get his vac's. but the dad should go because he'll have to go every few months, etc. (mom doesn't speak any english).
i am going to teach rocky to sit, come, down, etc (mostly come). i don't know when i'll get to this part because i'm so busy and plus i'm more concerned with his health.
i'll let you guys know how it goes. i'll have more time when school finishes (about may 4th). and a lot more time when i move.
siiigh....

I'm there with ya! My neighbor got a puppy for her sister who is emotionally scarred after the deaths of her children (who were about our age when they were killed in a car accident) The puppy was supposed to help the mentally impaired sister stay home, but she wanders the neighborhood with the puppy off leash following her. I don't know how many times I have almost hit the puppy with my car. She also lets the puppy outside the front door and leaves him to his own devices which ususally means being in MY front yard and trying to get into my house whenever we come and go. On Sunday while doing yardwork, Shane and I put that puppy in their fenced backyard at least 8 or 9 times! They keep letting him out of the fenced yard! The mentally challenged woman was sitting on her porch and the puppy tried to attack my lawn mower while I was mowing! Shane once again picked him up and literally dropped him in the lady's lap! He told her she needs to keep the pup in the backyard or he would get hurt by the lawn mower or one of the cars that goes flying down the street during the day. She just smiled and sat there. He came back and picked up the weed wacker and the puppy came back over and attacked his shoe! I just don't know what to do other than call animal control, but even that wouldn't do any good!

 haha! it's cool.
well crazy people...back to rocky.
i have been obsessing over this dog all night now. ever since i learned that he doesn't have his shots... uuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!! i am so flaming mad! and it's even worse that the Dad doesn't speak much english cause i just want to sit him down and tell him what i think. well, i printed out a schedule from online of dog vaccanations. i will give them that tomorrow hopefully. i also made my own little list of things rocky needs and some useful info.
under needs i wrote:
1 shots
2 heartworm tabs
3 name tag
for info i gave them my vet's name and number, the name and number of a low-cost spay/neuter & shot place and the ER's number. i hope that they take him to the freaking vet! on top of that...if that dog is sick, my dogs could get sick! we live right next door. uuuuuuuugh! i am so frustrated.
ok...going away to my happy place now. thanks for listening again guys.
