What kind of dogs?
I was wondering what kind of dogs make good frisbee. I was looking for a dog with lots of energy and like to run around.

Jack russells, Border Collies, Australian Shepherds to name a few

Jack Russells would be good. They're kind of on the smaller side but can do some good jumping. Border Collies would also be good. Let's just say CTChin made good suggestions. |

I have never had a German Shepherd that wouldn't fly high for the disks

There's also Dalmatians. You ahve to be careful where you get them, though.

if you want a dog that is sooo energized and always needs to be 'doing' something, get a border collie or a jack russel terrier.
if you want one to kind of lie around some of the time (not most of the time), maybe a german shepard or an australian shepard.
everyone's made great suggestions!
and please please please consider rescuing a dog! there are SO many big dogs that are homeless. and a lot will make great fly-ball dogs! good luck! |

JR's are great high energy dogs along with Border Collies (alot of good suggestions above)..... Although we have a Rottie that loves playing catch and jumping for Frisbee's, Dakota is about 115+ pounds now and it is so funny to see him fly through the air for a frisbee  |

My Aussie only lays around to conserve energy so that when he sees me he has plenty to herd me with!

Some shelties enjoy frisbee, too, and have a good energy level. 
But don't get a Samoyed.  They are one of the world's worst dogs to train! (Great companions, but very stubborn.) |

My last GSD loved to play frisbee. Although you have to be careful with having some of the bigger breeds running and jumping too much. It's easy for them to injure their backs and/or hips.
