Which food do you feed?
 Hi
I realise that some brands will not be available in all countries but canned or dry ~ maybe both and how many times a day? Could be interesting.
I feed my CKCS pup an equal mix of Canidae (US) Nutro NC puppy (US) & Bosch puppy (German) All dry food fed ad lib. Water always available inside & out. I do cook up Ashka's breakfasts of rice, vegies, eggs & sardines (Frozen down in 4 x meal quantities)
None of my dogs or cats have become overweight on ad lib feeding and Ashka seems to be the same ~ 4 kgs. @ 3.5 months. I have only used ad lib when I have owed one dog so not sure if it would work with two or more.
OK Next

Hi su2nz
I feed my dogs Iams lamb and rice. The Vet said that was a decent food to be feeding. I'm assuming it isn't the greatest but but since I buy a 40lb bag every two weeks cost is an issue. I pretty much have them used to eating whenever thry're hungry, so there is food in their bowls at all times. The only one that is overweight is our Lab. The others have put on a couple more lbs in the last couple of months. I "intend" to start feeding them twice a day, I just haven't done it yet.
Hope this helps.
Also if anyone reading this has ever heard anything really negative about Iams, please let me know, I'd hate to be harming their health or anything.

I feed Iams kitten right now, and my vet said it is a good food. I feed the measured amount for their weights, and it seems Smitty doesn't eat enough, and Bay Girl over eats. I measure out their food between 12-1 AM every night, if they go through it before hand (which doesn't often happen) I try and wait to give them their next feeding. (Even though this is the dogs section hope you don't mind me jumping in)

My dog is currently on Wellness (chicken) mixed with California Natural, dry foods. I also put Grizzly Salmon Oil or Vita Gravy on her food a few times a week.

Both my dogs eat Eukanuba (now they eat the adult one because they are over a year old). Their coats are extremely shiny and healthy because of the food, or at least that's what the vet told us a few weeks ago. She said "Wow, Dacky's coat is super shiny, what do you feed her?" And when we replied with Eukanuba, she said that's the reason. They absolutely love it. We give them food at different times each day, depending on when they are hungry. They sorta give a nudge to their bowl and we hear it, so we feed them. They are small dogs, a good amount once a day is good for them. Water is always available.
Of course, Eukanuba is the "expensive" brand, but from what I understand, Eukanuba is made by Iams, so you might get the same effect. They are both good brands. I just spoil the **** out of my dogs.

My dogs get a 50/50 mixture of Pedigree and Eukanuba. They love it, and they look great. I love Eukanuba.
Iams is made by the same company that makes Eukanuba. They were recently bought out by Kraft foods. There was great speculation that the ingridients in Iams were downgraded to lower the cost and make it "store" quality leaving the Eukanuba as the premium brand. My cat still eats Iams and does great on it though.

I feed Nutro lamb and rice dry with California natural can mixed in.
I think the California natural is fantastic food, I would love to use their dry but it would get too expensive for me. Nutro is a very good food too and they run sales on it around here very often.
When I use to mix pedigree can in the dry my dogs teeth got really gross and dirty. Just thught I'd mention that to any one that uses it. The California natural dosen't have that effect on their teeth. It's all natural with lamb as first ingrediant listed.

My Dogs all get the Pedigree little bites, when they were young I had them on the Eukanuba (which is what I feed my cats) however for the dogs, it tended to upset their tummies (strange) but for the past 2 yrs. the Pedigree as worked wonderful. Even our vet can't believe that is what I have them on because they are not over weight, and their coats are extremely shiny and they are healthy healthy healthy

My doggies eat Iams Lamb and Rice. They seem to like it although we may switch them to PEdigree because it is alot cheaper and they seemed to have a feast when they visited their great Aunts. We feed them 1/2-3/4 cup twice a day (They are only a sheltie and a cocker)

I feed Nutro Max to the dogs and Nutro Natural Choice Weight Management to my cat. Both dry. Although they did start making the cat food in a wet formula in those new pouches (love those!) so every once in a while I give her wet food so it seems like she is getting a treat even though it is the same thing.

I feed my boys, which are both still puppies, a mix of Purina foods. I go with half and half of Purina Pro Plan Chicken and Rice Puppy and Purina O.N.E. Large Breed Puppy. They both seem to enjoy it, though Reece has always been a less enthusiastic eater. They also get small amounts of Pedigree canned food mixed in occasionally...I figure they deserve the occasional treat.
