Box turtles
Does anybody know much about these guys? Erin's neighbor had one in their back yard that their Lab tried to tear up so they brought it home. Zoe, of course, didn't want to take it across the street to the creek and now they have eggs!
Know anything about gestation time, diet, etc? Erin has already asked if I want one - I don't think I have a place to keep it coraled!

There are several good sites out there with information on box turtles, Box Turtle Care & Conservation is probably a good place to start.
Wild box turtles usually do not survive if relocated from their home range.

I ought to get that for her. Her hubby does lawn work in the summer and is forever bringing one of the little guys home with him. It's time she learned something about them!
Thanks, Rav, I'll check Amazon for that.

I'll get Erin to take pictures as the process progresses. I'm sorry, I don't think I could ship it across country and it would live! But we can get you a picture you can print out for Tommy Turtle!

There nails help them to dig. They dig in for protection I believe.
Great pics. Rav.

The one in the middle pic could use a trim, they're long. She was a rescue, she doesn't even have a leg on the other side, so she doesn't do enough digging to wear her nails down on her own. The others are all correct length though. They are pretty good diggers.
