Favorite Veggies??

Just wondering what some of the veggies are your turtles (and tortoises) eat.

Trying to get my turtles more vegetarian (YOU would think it would be easy- being one myself!!).

So far mine like corn, mango, grapes, and red chard. I have tried other fruits and veggies for them only to nip at it and offer me a look like DO I HAVE TOO? or WHAT is THIS?!

Thanks!

Speaking generally, mine are fond of most of the dark-leafed greens. They don't seem to like collards or kale, though.

Given the opportunity, they all love strawberries. Especially since a lot of them are only allowed this as a treat. I think their bright red color helps make strawberries especially attractive. Blackberries are always appreciated as well.

Mine don't seem to be fond of carrots or anything hard.

I just got my turtle this weekend from a friend and she had a great idea. George really likes bananas, so she mixes other veggies (corn, peas, carrots-frozen and thawed) in with the banana, in a ziploc bag. that way, everything tastes like his fave treat, but he's getting a wider range of foods. Just a thought. Good luck.
