Getting ready for New RES rescues

Well i just got the last of the things i needed for my RES's tub. I got a large 40"X20"X20" rubbermaid tub that i can fill around half way before it starts bowing.

Got a fluval 4 fully submergeable filter, a heat light, uvb light, tank heater and turtle pellets.

Heres a pic of the tub i got with the cork bark for a dock. im going to find a way to station it to the side so it doesent float away lol.

We just need to set up the filter, UVB, tank heater and heat light now .

Best i can do for now . ALMOST 3 and a half feet. wich is ALOT better than the 10 gallon tank they were in before . It'll deffinetly be good enough till we can get a nice sized tank for em.

if you wedge the tub inbetween some shelves or stacks of books to prevent bowing, you could fill it up more? coudl you put a brick in the tub, as a toy? man i'd have that full of marbles lol

We were thinking of something like that. or drilling holes on the top and getting some heavy cord or something to hold it kinda like a split peace in the middle of the larger tanks to help prevent bowing.

Thanks ^.^ ratsnakes really enjoy swimming. i think im going to do that more often as well especially with my females. It increases muscle mass wich reduces the risk of egg binding when breeding.

wow cool!!!

AND i just thought of an idea for the tubs. you can make a metal frame, or wood box, or those cube cages. OR just put it into another tub (which you are sacrificing to the reinforcing gods). It just occured to me
