Though I would say hi on this board too, since I'm about to be a turtle foster mom again.
My mom has a HUGE pond with lots of wildlife. Every once in awhile when she finds a turtle nest, we dig all around it and put it up by the house. When the little turtles hatch, we take care of them for a year (or more) until they are big enough to try in on their own in the pond. So far we've only had Eastern Painted Turtles. I don't think the RES in the pond are quite old enough yet.
NEways~ We have two nests at the moment. (a first for us) the first was a very small nest. Only three eggs. One didn't make it
and two hatched yesterday
: So as soon as they are up and about more, they'll be coming to my house to live in our turtle habitat. We're not sure when the other nest is going to hatch. We're keeping an eye, and I'll let you know.
