Ideas for RES tank (10 gallonfor now)

im trying to come up with some plans for a turtle tank at 10 gallons for now before i get my turtles which are going to be RES please post any pics or just describe yours any ideas would be nice

My only real suggestion would be to get a bigger tank. A 10 gallon won't even last you a year, with a healthy, growing red-eared slider, and not many aquariums will be suitable at all for a full grown adult... so make sure you're planning for the long term. Red-eared sliders are a hefty investment, and among the most dumped reptile pets, because people don't think about how big they get when they see this cute little turtle in the pet store, and are unable to house them once they grow. Oh, and make sure you get quality UV lighting.

Pet stores aren't supposed to sell turtles under 4 inches and for every inch of turtle it should be 10 gals of water. You can have 1/4 a turtle in that tank.

i dont know if the law is different in the uk but when i got my sliders they where only an inch long, one was a little smaller it is still very small now although the other two are nearing two inches

when I had RES they had more of a pin, not a tank. I dont know if they make a tank big enough for a RES. Mine had a kiddie pool of water, plenty of room to walk around, things to hide in, etc

rubbermaid storage containers! Or a bigger aquarium size.

I used to keep a box turtle in one until it got big enough to be outside in the yard.

I found that rubbermaids work great for tortoises and turtles, it gives them lots of room to roam and its inexpensive so you can save your money for other stuff for them!
