I am so rry.
Are we talking about a beautiful Whites Tree Frog?
I know a lil' about red leg.Signs are normally a red color on the underside of the back leg.Alot of times it caused by grabbing the frog tightly,or some type of injury.Normal it needs to be trated by a vet.
What happened to make you think this is how it died?

He never got hurt he just started spending lots of time in the water and sitting out in the open. His eyes looked sunken in and he was always brown. I tried changing the water everyday and misting him heavily, making the tank warmer, more food but he never got better The red wasn't just on his legs it covered his entire underside. None of the other frog in the tank seem to have it though, will they be ok?

It doesn't sound like red leg. However it would be a good idea to clean everything real good just to be safe from bacteria contamination.A wtf doesn't require water to get into. They are woodland creatures, however they do like high humidity and a temp.around 90 degrees. To much water cuts done on the humidity and causes these lil' guys to dehydrate, and die. This can take a long period of time,or happen almost over nite. The redness you saw was probably stress.
I kept mine in woodchips,with plants,and a water sprayer.
What other frogs do you have?

It sounds like your frog may have indeed died of a form of RedLeg.

Redleg has become a common name for a couple of things.

The most common is a bacterial infection caused by gram-negative bacteria. Aeromonas is the most common, but there are incidences of Psuedomonas, Proteus, and even E.coli.

Typically a frog becomes lethargic, stops eating, and you see the reddening under the skin. This is usually in the belly and thigh area. Bacterial diseases are pretty communicable and call for isolation at the first symptoms.

If caught early enough, anti-bacterial therapy can save the frogs life. It's important to get it to a vet who can culture the bacteria and determine the appropriate anti-biotics. Oral tetracycline is usually the treament of choice. Open sores or cuts can be treated with an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin to reduce exposure to injured animals.

There are a lot of things considered to be causes for this disease. It has been attributed to overcrowding, water quality, spoiled food, or exposure to some toxin which weakens the immune response.

There are also some types of viruses of the family called Iridovidae that can infect captive frogs. Frog Erythrocytic Virus (FEV). The symptoms can be somewhat similar. FEV is transmitted between frogs by mosquitoes or midges, and is not transmitted by water or orally as far as I know.
