http://www.paw-talk.net/forums/f91/f...s-39745-3.html
Mine dont have a heater, as my apartment stays a good temp for them
And mine enjoy crickets the most and sometimes will snack on a earth worm...but not usually and i have to tear them up small so they can get it in their mouth
PM me if you have more questions or reply here! they are fun pets!!!!

Thanks tarita2004.
I got him on Wednesday. And then I thrusday I lugged the tank home.
So right now hes in a 10gallon with gavel on the bottom, a peace of drift wood , plants and a land type thing so he can come our of the water.
I still need to get some more gravel and stuff but hes good for now.
I think he's a male b/c I heard him making nosies like a dying dog squeaky toy all night.
I have to go out and get him some crickets today.
A few more questions_
-should I get him a friend?
-can they eat fish fry (platies and guppies)
thanks and remember picture or the habitats would be really great thanks.

-should I get him a friend?
I really dont know how social they are, i have 2 and i think they are both males b/c there are no lil tadpoles! at one point i thought i was going to have to separate b/c they looked like they were breeding, but i think they are just confused So if you do get one more, make sure it's the same sex as ur other so they dont breed.
-can they eat fish fry (platies and guppies)
i would think so...i personally have never tried. i just feed my guys crickets and they love them
 enjoy!

Well here are some pictures.
I wasn't suppose to keep him when I asked my parents if I could take him. I just didn't want him to go to someone who wouldn't care for him right. We're still looking for a home for him.

he doesnt need a friend at all and yes they will def eat fish like guppies and anything they can fit into their mouths
also a min of 10 gal should be used since these guys secrete poisonous toxins which can eventually build up in such a small space and kill the frog (another reason not to get another one in a small tank...it is recommended to keep two in a 20gal) and remember to do complete water changes and scrub the whole tank down...rocks gravel and all and wash your hands afterwards
btw..not to sound mean or anything but your water is a bit off color...at least from the pic, i would do a water change...in times of stress and when their water perimeters are not correct they tend to try to escape and stay out of their water...i have had salamanders do this in the past

I feed my FBTs just crickets, they seem to take well. I actually feed the crickets some food made to make them healthy and thus well keep the frogs healthy. I have a cricket keeper, has two black tubs inside it that they hide in, it works really well. I also have a ten gallon. Two frogs. No heater, but I do have a sticker on the outside of the tank the tells me the temp, there like a buck. I also have a filter made for frogs. Works great.
And yes males do make lots of dog like sounds all night, they might be breeding. With out the filter though the eggs don't stand a chance. And even in an ideal habbatat they die a lot. So don't beat your self up if they do. And I think FBTs have been known the change Sex but I am not sure.

Well I thought I should tell you guys that he found a new home - awhile ago and I think I just never updated you guys. Sorry about that.
He water was actually fine. There was a piece of drift wood so he had another place to climb on and the lighting made it really weird.Plus the tank was on the ground .
