It has taken alot of work to get it to the way it is now. The toads have not only been living they have been thriving so have their roomates Sammy the Mystery Snail who has begun to add to his shell and 3 Comets Moe, Larry and Curley

I love the set-up. It appeals to the eye and obviously the health of your animals. Way to go!

Yeah it does do just that now that i reall think about it. Even though the layout changes just bout every two or so weeks when i do partial water changes the components i use stay the same.

Thanks everyone for the comments it makes me proud to know that others really like what i have done. The critters sure have been thriving growing by leaps and bounds.

My snail and Comets are good examples of this thriving and the Toads "oop" up a storm all the time so i think thats a sign of being happy.

That looks great! And they are so pretty! Since they are mildly poisonous, can you not touch them or is this only if eaten?

BTW what is Bed-A-Beast?

Well you can handle them but as a general rule you shouldnt really handle amphibians due to thier sensitive skin. My toads will sit on my hand. I usually wear latex gloves when i handle mine. Its a good idea to just wash your hands really good before and after handling them.

Bed-A- Beast is reptile and amphibian bedding made from coconut husks and it comes in a compressed brick that expands when you soak it in hot water.

My american toad Freckles likes it alot cuz she can bury herself with it and its nice n light n fluffy when you try it out. Holds the humidity well too.

Just a rat" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day. I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a rat", but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man", because I am an animal lover So the next time you hear the phrase "just a rat", just smile -- because they "just don't understand."
