Andy was terrified of thunderstorms. I say "was" because on Sunday night Andy busted out of my coworker's back gate during a thunderstorm and ran down the street, followed by her
German Shepherd and Pit Bull mix as well. For whatever reason, her neighbor called the cops, saying that there were dogs running around the neighborhood. The cops showed up, and witnesses say that one cop had his weapon drawn from the moment he exited the car. From there we're told (again by the witnesses) that the cop squatted to shoot Andy, who had taken shelter under some garden furniture in a neighbor's yard, twice in the side. Within a few seconds,
Animal Control showed up and Sage and Tucker were loaded into the van and so was Andy, who walked three houses down to the van, shot twice in the side, without any sign of aggression. We're told from there by Animal Control that the dog was taken to the vet by the cops, and treatment was refused when they were told that he could be fixed. Apparently their story is that Andy was a threat and that he lunged at the cop. There were children out playing who saw Andy get shot as well as a few of the parents.
