My name is Shannon Goins, and I am trying to let people know about a ferret that was rescued from a dumpster that had been badly burned - another ferret died from its injuries.
A woman in my area rescued it, and is currently funding its care. She works at a
pet store and does not make much money. The vet bills are over $600 as of yesterday, and there will be at least $200 more worth of hospitalization, and possibly another $200 for surgery.

Some people have already heard about this case and have gotten an email from Kelly stating that PetCo has agreed to cover the costs. The corporate management at PetCo did agree to cover all costs. BUT, the guy has got to go to court, and if he is found guilty and made responsible to pay the bills, then PetCo will NOT pay because they are not legally responsible at that point.
The problem is that this guy is likely not going to pay for it, and then Kelly and the vet will have to sue him to get the money. The information on the website asks for donations to help cover Kelly's costs because she has put out a lot of money already. We can send your money back if someone does pay, we can donate it to another ferret in need, or we can donate it to the
local humane society that is about to close its doors here due to lack of donations. If funds are passed along, they will be made in your name.
