In the event that this has not yet hit the lists, there is a Golden Retriever pup that is going to be auctioned April 20th as part of a fund raiser at the following school. School info is below for anyone that wishes to express their outrage.

Although I'm sure the schools intentions are good, this *auctioning* just feeds into the notion that pets are objects.
