Angel Friends, you may have heard that in my city,
Akron, OH the unwise city counsel passed an ordinance to
pick up roaming cats, owned or not for mass euthanasia
at tax-payer expense....$410,000 a year is being ear-
marked for this but nothing for spay/neuter services
which are desperately needed for dog and cat guardians.
The average alter fee here in Summit county is $150.00
for either cat or dog. We can't convince area vets to
help lower the costs so dogs and cats are put out on the
streets to fend for themselves, breed and die horrible
deaths alone.
I am asking you to contact your family and friends
in Akron, and ask them to contact the city council and
complain. We have formed a coalition to repeal this
horrible law, but we need bodies and voices. Our next
meeting is this Saturday at 2:30pm at the Maple Valley

The council person responsible for this awful law
is Renee Greene, who was quoted as saying that "I equate
the cat population problem with the drug dealers we have
on our streets!!"....How about that for uninformed and
cat-hating??? Her email address
