None that I know of in the US.
I'd be very interested to hear if there are in any other countries.

AN ANIMALS' DEFENDER:
A Watchdog for the Underdog
'Property includes money and all other property, real or personal... Wild creatures, tamed or untamed, shall be regarded as property...' Theft Act 1968 Section 4.
It is and always has been their lot to be exploited. They have been abused, burnt at the stake, hanged at the gallows, tried and executed as criminals, vivisected and used as weapons of war. They have been subjected to every cruelty imaginable for reasons of economics, hedonism, politics, science, sport and war. They have been and remain the perennial victims enchained in bondage by law. Their rights extend to the right to be killed at will and eaten too. As to who and why the reason is the same : animals because they are animals.
The rest can be found on this website..

Sure would be nice if the US would catch up with the UK with Animal rights.

Oh, YES, hun, there's numerous laws to protect animals throughout the world. They do vary by location, but if it's a "superior law", it cannot conflict, otherwise the superior laws rule. Which legal issue do you need assistance with and in which location? I'll be happy to help in any way I can. Oh, and unless it's an actual law or cited case, no attorney's opinion can be taken as a definitive (factual) law. That's why there's so many attorneys ... they argue and argue until the judge or jury decides the case. Reading appellate decisions and the current regulations is the best place to study about the laws, but you must remain current on reading, because laws change frequently.

Yeah, but, unfortunately, it's not, hun. I just wanted to let everyone know that the Acts cited in the website link only apply to the U.K. and they date only up to 1991, meaning that they were all subject to change either slightly, moderately or completely abolished over the past 14 years. The Acts are definitive of the law, the Federal Codes further define, the code sections further define, and caselaw (final decisions) even further defines the actual law to the present day. It's a combination of all of them which can make or break a case, whether it's a bench or jury trial ... all boils down to the same theories of law. In other words, what you read in an Act might not be what you actually believe to be true, same as a code, regulation, ordinance, caselaw, etc. The laws change very frequently in every location, and that's why the laws must be researched and cases must be Shepardized up-to-date on a case-to-case basis prior to proceeding to court.
