China Blocks U.S. Inspectors Seeking Answers to Pet Poisonings
China is blocking FDA inspectors, if this article is accurate. Not very nice.
Blue buffalo, who had a sales rep in the store the other day touting how all their stuff comes from the United States, is now recalling some
kitten food due to melamine. They have a big statement on their website naming suppliers though, and are saying they had no idea ingredients were coming from China. I bought this stuff based on their assurance it was all from the US. The cans I bought weren't kitten food and don't contain rice protein concentrate or any glutens, thank goodness.
I accidentally fed the cats some treats without looking at the label. It's nothing that's been recalled, but it contains corn gluten. I've been trying to avoid ALL glutens, because in the research I'm doing it seems like any darned thing is suspect (corn, and gluten in general aren't that great anyway). I hope this isn't going to be the next thing.
