More Taxes? What Do you think?

I've read this article or suggestion and actually like the
idea and was wondering what others think about having animal
welfare tax?

In my town the fees for lisences go toward the local pound/shelter. My idea (actually its a lot of different peoples idea) is that why is the fee for an unneutered animal only $2 or $3 more than a neutered animal. I think if you are going to own an unnuetered animal it should cost $50 - $100 for a lisence. Maybe people would get their animals neutered this way.

In my county, fees and taxes are used to fund the local animal shelter (as well as private donations).

It's a great idea, all you have to do is get your elected officials to think it's their idea, ...then they might support it...

We have no elected officials that actually really run anything, my town is so corrupt its rediculous. In NJ most things are run by township not county even though the health officer pretty much runs the county. Most of the fees go to the Animal Control Officer's salary. The health officer - he oversees the shelters is an and at least once a year pics on us (the people running the shelter) just for fun. I can't stand him for the most part.
