Updates to case and related incidents
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that I've changed the home page of my web site to include updates to our case as well as related stories. Unfortunately, police shooting dogs seems to be a frequent occurrence. According to the Philadelphia Daily News, spontaneous dog killings by police have quadrupled since 1995. So please check out my web site if you get the chance. http://www.fortobywithlove.com
Thank you.

Thank you for the updates...I just went through and read them all. I wouldn't doubt at all that IF Toby growled at all, it was because of that peice of **** officer who Obviously hates dogs and had no concern for his daughters...if he had any concern for them, he wouldn't have so viciously shot Toby so many times!

Hello,
I am just one of the many dog owners that love their dog or dogs. I read about this article and I was aghast. I felt so bad for the owners of this beautiful, loving, innocent dog. I would feel differently if the dog was actually attacking the girls, or had an aggresive tempermant that was known, but by everything I have read, the answer is that this dog did not deserve this. Even if the dog was about to hurt the girls or do anything to harm them then one shot to get him to stay away would be enough, but eight or nine? No. Killing this dog was not the answer. I truly think that the off-duty police officer that shot this dog should be getting many charges. For animal cruelty and shooting dangerously in a public place. I don't even know how bad i would feel if this were to happen to my dog, and right before my very eyes. Again, this dog did not deserve to get this pain, and be killed the awful, unthinking way he was. God Bless you Toby.

*I would love for this to be read by other people, and posted on your website for Toby.*

74red, words can not express how sorry I am for your loss. I read your site and I am truly sorry. How cruel people can be? How horrible it must be for you? We are here for you and we support you in your fight for justice. Toby was a sweet and warm dog and I am sure he brought nothing but love to you and your family. You are in my prayers.

We have so many issues with animal cruelty here in TN. I, along with so many others, are fighthing to get the laws changed or even on the books. It seems that the officals do not take animal abuse/cruelty seriously and we want that stopped! Any assistance anyone can offer is greatly appreciated! We, humans, must be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves and that is the bottom line. I will call on someone in a heartbeat if they are not caring for their animal properly. One of the main concerns we have in this state is the 'good ole buddy' system and that has to end somehow. We have a new sheriff in the county where I live and he is at least decent and will listen. The previous sheriff could care less. I hate the situation, I'm trying to change things but I cannot do it alone. I hope if anyone from TN. is reading this; they will help us too! Pray for the animals and trust God to change things. They are His gifts.

Although this post was orignially posted back in April it is still sad about how so many people not to mention police can get away with such a heartless cruelty!!! I sure hope justice was done over the past 7 months as I know that justice being served can never bring back our loved one's it still shows there are those that care about animal rights in the legal system!!!

I have been debating for a few days whether to post a reply to this thread, due to the fact it is an old one, and I didn't want to upset 74red, by bringing up the subject of her beloved dog being so brutally killed..
I have been on the website, and have read all the stories on there, and I have cried and have got so annoyed that this has been happening.. Please keep us informed of the progress you are making...
