i hate that!! your pittbull would probably have been less aggressive then a neighbors' spaniel....i dont know but i hope your dog is ok..i really get annoyed at the whole "bully breed" thing-in fact our old mayor attempted to outlaw "bully breeds" and bring in some law that dogs had to be under the height of a border collie or some other medium breed-which obviosly didnt work!! how stupid-prays for your doggie!!

Sorry to hear that. I can't believe people that call just because.Did you get her back?

Pit bulls are banned here, so that have to be on leased, tagged and micro chipped (I think) and muzzled when their out side.I and think you have a lot of trouble getting them back if they are taken away.

I don;t understand why they ban breeds all the time, its the owners not the dogs!!!

Oh thats terrible!
Have you gotten the dog back? Are you even trying?

Someone probably saw a pitbull and just called about "the big, aggressive dog".However I do want to add...you shouldn't let your dog roam. Not only will there be bad people out there, but also pitbulls can be very dog aggressive.Just because your dog has not ever been aggressive towards other dogs, doesn't mean he won't be (I dunno if he was or not...just saying). They have dog aggression bred into them - NOT human aggression. But either way,I would NEVER let him roam.

I hope that you can get him back!!!!
Good luck.

Sorry that happened.
I was wondering the same thing....why was he not wearing his tags??
Its best to have them on at all times...even more so if there is no fence to keep the dog in. Sometimes lessons are learned the hard way.
Hope your able to get your dog back.

Actually its a She, and she didnt have her tags on because I dont like put collars on my animals or harness unless its manditory like my darn Java Macaque, and my marmoset loves. But yes We got her back the next day. It only costed us $138 but we are now attempting to sue the pound that had her because she was dehydrated when we got her back.

To what Vanilla_Rat said pitbulls do not have dog aggression bred in them. Due to popular belief pitbulls are the main target of BSl (breed specific legislation) I know this because I am in the constent fight agianst Bsl and there bull crap reasons. But any ways pitbulls where originally bred to fight agianst bulls in a pit hint the name, and they where bred to fight along side other dogs as a team not agianst them. But through the years the aggression in them has ben breed out through selective breeding. They are actually rated higher in the attitude test then collies so go figure. Please dont listen to what everyone else tells you do research.

Any animal will fight depending the sircumstances. Think about it and the truth will be know, The main reason they use pitbulls for fighting is because of there loyalty to there humans, dont you wonder why the humans are in the ring with the dogs. They are not dog aggresive just more loyal to there humans and smarter then most dogs hince easier to train.

the term Dog aggression obviosly means not sggressive to humans-duh,thats what she meant.the dogs are trined to attack dogs-meaning its bred into them or they'd chase bulls all day, theyre bred to fight-be it bulls or dogs.theyre taken and pit against other dogs to make thwem strong and the humans feed them so they become loyal to the human for survival.

(exuse my terrible grammer right now)

Ummmm...if you read my post RIGHT - you would see I said that pits were not bred to be human aggressive! Excuse me,but I am against banning of ANY breed and have read up and gotten info in a highly reccommended dog forum and know what I am talking about.

The pitbull is not supposed to be human aggressive! But because of it's nature, they CAN be DOG AGGRESSIVE.And in all honestly if you didn't know that, then thats sad.Sure, there are MANY pits that will never show aggression to other dogs and will be the sweetest things ever...but when in public, you always have to be aware of the signs.I don't mean towards humans,I mean towards dogs.

If you would like to talk to a reputable pitbull breeder/advocate - PM me and I will point you into the right direction. She speaks highly of the breed and has ALOT of info. She also has several pits.

READ MY POST CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU MAKE ASSUMPTIONS.
Nowhere in my post did I say pitbulls were a bad breed or human aggressive.
