now acetaminophen in foods??

Now they're saying that in the process of the melamine investigation they've found acetaminophen (pain reliever) in foods (not necessarily) on the menu foods recall list. Very new development, at least to me, and I don't know what will come of it. If anyone finds any trustworthy leads, let me know. This stuff is very toxic to kitties; dogs are less sensitive from what I read, but can still be injured. I can't seem to locate anything saying which brands are affected.

I had not heard that. They could not understand why more cats than dogs were affected. That would explain it. I worry so about all of this. My Bean is 11 and Tyler will be 16 soon. They are both in good shape but I don't think think they could take eating that. I worry less about the dogs because they are on Newman's Own organic food. I probably should not have the faith I do in it but I am a sucker for marketing techniques. I had the kitties on it but Tyler is apparently allergic to something in it. I had to switch back to Purina's sensitive stomach food.

I think everyone should just go to raw diets. I know a lot of people that have switched to that because of the recalls.

ASPCA: Press Release: ASPCA Believes Fear of Acetaminophen-contamination in Pet Food Unfounded

Based on further testing, ASPCA/FDA say " fear of widespread acetaminophencontamination unfounded". It doesn't explain how the drug, and that other chemical (cyanuric acid), were found in the samples from Texas.
