Just from what I've read so far, I do think if anyone should bear blame here, the teacher was the one who showed an EXTREMELY poor lapse in judgement in allowing this to happen. She should have forseen the implications of what was about to transpire and stopped it before it got this far. I think she is responsible for the needless deaths of the animals.

Actually, I blame the kid AND the parents! Where were the kid's parents when he bought and slaughtered pet store animals? The parents should've known better and not allowed it. I believe the teacher was wrong only because she allowed the animals to be skinned and cooked in her classroom. She has no control over what the kid did at home. That's the parents' responsibility!

I agree. This seems like bad judgment on the part of the kid, teacher and lack of supervision by the parents. However, it's not like he was torturing and killing animals. I'm not so sure that "jail time" is appropriate here.

Where guinea pigs are native, they are eaten. But, I think the kid may have some mental problems. I know a guy around here who will kill and skin ANYTHING he can get his hands on. His dad is a big guy in town, so noone will do anything about it. He has aggression issues. He's actually quite scary. So, anyone who will go to a pet store, purchase domestic animals, and then skin and eat them has something wrong with them. I don't care if he's from a rural area. I'm from a rural area. Most of my family hunts. They would NEVER EVER EVER do what this kid did. If I told them this story they'd probably say what I said when I read it, "OMG! What an idiot!" I hope he gets his *** beaten by someone in jail. Cause when he's in there and someone asks why he's there and he tells them, he's gonna get beat.
