Pet Owners Appalled by Hawaii's Quarantine

Basic Statement: Hawaii is a rabies free state, and requires any pet coming to the islands to undergo a quarantine upon arrival. This quarantine lasts either 30 days or four months, depending on some complex factors. Activists and Vets argue that there is a better way to protect Hawaii, one which doesn't involve imprisoning animals in deadly conditions.

hmmm...i just read a major portion of this, and this sounds completely foolish. Vaccinations should be all that is required.

That is the main reason we didn't take orders to Hawaii when they offered them, and the funny thing is the Military told us 120 to 180 days of quarantine would be required, but yet there were ways around that, but all in all a BIG pain in the bootie...

we have refused orders to Hawaii too....... The Army officials we spoke to said 180 days period no way around it and all at the owners expense.

I would not subject my babies to that.
