Rescued degus

hello all I rescued 20+ degus last saturday from a pet store that could no longer sale them and what I mean by rescue is I took them from horrible living conditions to a much better place. They all were in one small cage defacating on thier food and each other their coats were flaking white one boy had his tail chewed off and a wound in his neck and sad to say he didnt make it. Two of the females have already had litters and there are more to come. So inhumane I turned them in my conscious could not allow this treatment although i saved the degus the spiny mice and rats are still in filth and the ferrets are in more than a few days of feces. So sad and disheartening to see these creatures that dont ask to be caged be mistreated also I kept two boy bbs and they are doing just fine. And I called and checked on the other ones and they are all great except that one RIP little dude

Penny,
I am so glad you were able to rescue those poor little degus! If you are needing homes for the babies when they are ready, please contact me as I would love to have a pair (or trio!).
