If youve lost a dog or cat you absolutely MUST check your county/city shelters.
There are a few people that go out of their way to catch stray/lost pets. and turn them over to their local shelters....you need to check the shelters in the neighboring towns too...as sometimes a lost pet is picked up by someone who is on their way home -[in their car]
Make sure to ask the shelter if they've collected any injured strays-----[these may be housed at a vet's hospital and not on their list]
