Advice Please - Merging households two cats + two cats

Hi There

- I'm desperate for help and advice.
I'm moving into my boyfriends house - he has 2 adult (neutered) males (5 &4 yrs old) and I have 2 cats (brother & sister litter mates - 2 1/2 years old).
We have been spending time together for 4 years and our cats definitely recognise one another's smell, but I am really uncertain about how we should go about introducing the cats to each other.

Lots of info on the web - but mainly about one new cat/kitten to the household.

Both pairs of cats are loyal and loving to one another, but the resident cats do go outside whereas my two - the ones we are moving are indoor only.

Anyone who has any ideas please can you help? This is more tricky than introducing steo-brothers and sisters!!!!

It might be tricky with two outdoor cats and two cats that are indoor.

When you first bring the new cats over keep them separated from the existing cats for a few weeks and every other day change the bed/blankets and toys around. Even though they may have smelt each other on you before sharing the bed/blankets and toys will have a stronger smell. They will also be able to smell each other from under the door.

Introduce them slowly in a neutral environment and watch for any signs of aggression or stress.
