Cat's who don't meow

I have two kitties, around 14 months old. They are true sisters, litter mates.. Very vocal, but here's the kicker, neither of them meow. They grunt and chirp. It's incredibly cute.

Does anyone have any idea's why the don't meow, or who have cats like these two?

I'm never having children. I have two cats. Sisters no less.

Sugar is my loudmouth. She's constantly mewling, meowing etc. Skooma, on the other hand, is usually pretty quiet. When she does meow it's a raspy, growly meow (often accompanied by a rumbling meow-purr :p ). I don't have any good audio for it because Sugar usually drowns her out

I'll try to get some video/audio but she's sooo quiet I can barely hear her half the time. Not to mention it lasts a couple seconds... compared to Sugar's looooong drawn out ones >.<
